Ashwin Kumar’s mythological animated film Mahavatar Narsimha is continuing its stellar run at the box office, collecting ₹15 crore on its second Saturday. With this, the film’s total collection stands at ₹67.95 crore in just nine days, putting it on track to cross the ₹70 crore mark soon—a major milestone for Indian animated cinema.
Despite being a fully animated feature, Mahavatar Narsimha has shattered expectations nationwide. The film has gained strong traction, especially in Telugu-speaking regions, where it posted a remarkable 74.08% overall occupancy on Saturday, August 2. Morning shows started at 46.36%, surging to 93.57% by night.
The Hindi version is steadily picking up momentum, particularly in metros and northern states, registering an overall occupancy of 57.17%. Morning shows began modestly at 30.37%, climbing to 82.47% by night.
In Tamil Nadu and other Tamil-speaking areas, the film maintained a solid 66.66% overall occupancy. The numbers saw a significant rise throughout the day, peaking at 84.20% during the night shows.
Mahavatar Narsimha, co-written by Jayapurna Das and Rudra Pratap Ghosh, has been lauded for its spiritual storytelling, high-quality animation, and cinematic treatment of Hindu mythology. The film’s visual appeal and positive word-of-mouth are drawing audiences across age groups and linguistic regions.
With strong weekend numbers and growing audience interest, Mahavatar Narsimha is now one of the highest-grossing Indian animated films to date.
